We have had adoption in our hearts for MANY years and talked about it before getting married. Our plan was always to adopt. Crystal is a teacher and knows what its like to pour your heart and soul into a child and see them grow and flourish. Patrick knows the joys of adoption as his younger sister Kate was adopted from Central America. Both of us knew we wanted a family but the question was WHEN?

After 9 years of being together, Crystal had complications that resulted in surgery and the possibility of having a biological child only within a year of surgery was given. After many tests and poking and prodding, the news was given that we would have a very small chance of conceiving by IVF and no chance of conceiving naturally. With our emotions in tow and our desire to have a family still strong in our hearts, we went back to our first love of giving another child a great life in a loving and caring home, and spending our life making memories!

Our desire is to eventually adopt two children from North Carolina, but we first need to gather the funds to make it possible for our 1st one! The agency that we want to go with is www.achildshope.com . To fund one child it costs around $20,000. This would cover all of the paperwork, fees, lawyers, counseling, etc. Thank you for reading through our blog and learning more about us and our family. A new opportunity has found us through family and friend connections. We are now looking to foster to adopt with the Boys and Girls Homes of NC.
